FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GETTING YOUR UAE BUSINESS LICENCE

The online application itself is quick however, behind the scenes, if the application has errors, if documents are missing or if the information supplied is questionable, then compliance will stall the process. A backlog of qued-up applications may also cause delays.

This is why it is important to choose your representative agent wisely. Do your research before you decide to proceed.

The last thing you want is to use an unprofessional agency that fails to guide you correctly to ensure you understand what is involved and to ensure a smooth transition from start to end.

The fees charged for your licence, will vary depending on a number of factors such as your activity type and classification, how many activities you require,  which emirates you are applying, how many employees or visa quota’s you require amongst other things.

The issuing governing body decides upon the fees, and reserves the right to change their fees frequently which is why is it not possible to provide an instant quote.

Always speak to an agency consultant who can provide you with the latest up-to-date information on this matter.

For guidance only you should typically expect to budget (on the minimum side) around the 15-25K mark for a one-year business licence, (inclusive of all other government fees). Please note: the Freezone location you choose, the activity and whether you include a physical office will all affect the price and impact the pricing as well.

If you see such quotations, then know that the licence fee portion is only being advertised.

Other essential fees have not been included and you will need to pay all required fees to process all the components, in order to get your approved legal documents for your business set up.

Other fees include your medicals, biometrics, various other department fees, Visa and Emirates ID processing fees which are all separate bills or charged as a promotion one-off bundle fee.

The government licencing offices commonly release frequent promotions and offers with limited special prices throughout the year.

Fees are taken at the start when applying. This is dictated by the government who will request payments immediately once you begin your application. The government licencing body also has time limitations set for processing and for this reason, it is best to have your funds in place before embarking on your set-up journey, to avoid delays and late payment government charges.

The process is complex when there are queries and issues raised by the governing body.

And yes, the process has many steps and the best way to ensure you get your licence without any hick-ups is to provide all the requested information by following our guidance. We will support you all the way and manage the process smoothly for you in order to ensure you get your business licence set up without any issues or blockages.

However, please note, due to the complexity of the internal governmental process, we as an agent cannot be held responsible for delay because the governing licencing department has its own regulatory compliance rules and regulation procedures to follow, and we have no control over how long they may take to actions things on their end.

Assuming there are no issues or concerns, clients can expect to get the processing aspect done in a week, with documents ready and the Emirates ID, to be received via the post.
